New Team at Together for Cinema Looks Forward to Next 25 Projects

Having successfully completed 25 installations, Together for Cinema has expanded its team of industry professionals to ensure it can continue to bring the industry together and deliver cinemas to hospice projects across the UK.

Ian Morrish, who founded Together for Cinema in 2009, will remain a key figure in the organisation and will now be supported by Wendy Griffiths from trade body, CEDIA, Melanie Malcolm from Leeds-based integration firm, Bespoke Home Cinemas and Shereen Russell and Jeff Hayward from industry marketing agency, Wildwood.

“The original target for Together for Cinema was to complete 25 projects by 2020, which we’ve now reached with our cinema room for the White Lodge Centre in Chertsey,” says Ian Morrish. “From the start, the industry has pulled together to support Together for Cinema with home technology integrators, suppliers and brands all offering their services and products for free. The level of backing has been, quite frankly, staggering and the feedback from hospices on the enjoyment these spaces have provided to children, older residents, their families and staff has been emotional but so rewarding for everyone involved.”

He adds, “For these reasons, I’m determined to take Together for Cinema forward to achieve the next 25 installations, but I recognise that it’s grown to be much more than a one-person job. In different ways, Wendy, Melanie, Shereen and Jeff have all supported Together for Cinema up to this point and they’ll now be joining me more formally on the Together for Cinema team to help with finding, organising and marketing the next series of projects. They’re well-respected and have great connections and skills that will help us keep the momentum going and enrich many more lives in the future.”

The new team has already started planning the next batch of installs, with the 26th project due to begin at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Huddersfield in 2021. Melanie will be managing this project along with her team at Bespoke Home Cinemas.

Together for Cinema is actively looking for integrators and brands to get on board for future installations. If you’re interested in getting involved, then please contact Melanie or Wendy.
