September and October have been a bit of a whirlwind for Together For Cinema, to say the least!
The London to Brighton cycle ride on September 15th was amazing and we’ve also completed a further four good cause cinema room installations taking us to the magic 50! We also commissioned the work to create a website to help donate second hand, B-stock and discontinued AV items to good causes and charities in the UK.
We now have a busy schedule of installations planned for 2025 and all we now need are two installers to help in the Bradford area, one at the children’s ward of an NHS hospital and one at the Marie Curie adult hospice. If you think you can help please let me know… As you will understand we can only make these rooms happen if the industry steps up and helps…
So…, London to Brighton…, a huge thank you to all that took part and helped make a memorable day for all that took part. 55 miles was a real challenge for most of us, and some felt it more than others! Hats off to Phil Hardaway who finished first from our group of 37 and actually finished 55th of about 6,000 riders!
A huge thank you also to all those 400+ companies and individuals that helped us surpass our fundraising target and helped us raise just over £20k of much needed funds to help make Together For Cinema happen.
2025 is shaping up to be another successful year for and I thank all who support and help make Together For Cinema happen.
Ian Morrish
Founder and Managing Director, Together For Cinema CIC
With one installation delayed to 2025 and a refit of a previous install dropping in to our schedule we still had 9 installations to manage this year. As we know this is a big ask, particularly as we had a dinner for 300 to arrange and a cycle ride for 37, but we’re almost there!
The installations below are listed in ‘Completion Date’ and the current status is as follows:-
We are hugely grateful to the installers listed above for kindly taking on these installations and I am sure that they will find their journey to making a difference a rewarding one. As we all know the key to making these installations happen is a good installer and I reckon we have some of the very best listed above. Thanks again to you all…
As we bring to a close our 2024 installations our focus turns to preparing our schedule for 2025, and the list below has been changing almost weekly, however with only a few weeks to go before 2025 I think the list below is fairly accurate, though I still expect a change or two!
We are of course in touch with many other venues and have a strong pipeline to call on, however, if you know of anywhere that could benefit from our offering, please do let me know. It won’t be long before we start looking at our 2026 schedule!
We have been extremely fortunate that over the past 4 years our industry, and some outside of the industry, have been extremely supportive and have helped fund our journey, and hence played a major part in all that Together For Cinema has achieved. For this we are hugely grateful, as are all of the beneficiaries, including the venues themselves, and the families and children that enjoy the fruits of our collaborative efforts.
Over the past 12 months I wholeheartedly believe that Together For Cinema has delivered beyond expectation.
For this delivery to continue we need your continued financial support, and if you’re not already supporting please can I ask you to consider becoming one of our Charitable Partners.
Our current list of Charitable Partners reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of our industry and we would be delighted for you to join the list of supporting partners. You can see the list of those already committed on our website by clicking here.
With the above in mind the levels at which you, and/or your industry contacts can support are as follows:-
Bronze (£500) Silver (£1,000) Gold (£2,500) Platinum (£5,000) Diamond (£10,000)
Further detail can be found here or alternatively please contact Ian Morrish at ian@togetherforcinema.co.uk to discuss what options are open to you, and what difference you can help make.
We have some very exciting plans for 2025 and Together For Cinema, and the difference we make to so many lives, can only continue with your support…
As for any small Charity or Community Interest Company, finances are obviously key to making a difference. We are fortunate that we have a hugely supportive industry that backs us to deliver. However, fundraising is important for more than just financial reasons…
In May 2024 we put on the £1m Celebration Dinner for almost 300 people, and we also had 36 people cycling the 55 miles from London to Brighton and 1 person actually running it! Much needed, and much appreciated funds were generated but the associated exposure and comprehensive support of Together For Cinema sent strong waves through the industry.
For this coming year we will again turn to ‘Team TFC’ to cycle the 55 miles from Clapham Common in London to the Brighton seafront, and this will take place on Sunday September 14th. With interest levels ever increasing I suspect we will again have more riders, and it’s likely we will hit the magic 50! The greater the amount of people involved, the greater will be the ripples of awareness and increased support throughout our industry.
Fundraising is important for any not for profit good cause but please note the first three letters of Fundraising are Fun…, and even though 55 miles on a bike is tough, we all had a great time and I believe, we’re all looking forward to riding it again, and having others join us…
We have had more requests for shirt sponsors and Alltrade have already kindly sponsored and re-booked the reception venue close to the finish line. I suspect this will again be a hugely successful event! Please let me know if you’d like to become part of Team TFC…
Listed below are a few other updates that might be of interest:-
GivingBack.tech – Inspired by Together For Cinema
Work has finally begun on ‘GivingBack.tech’, the new UK industry medium to repurpose second hand, discontinued stock and B-stock to good causes. The schedule for creation and launch will take time, and, with a great deal of testing and shaping we may launch towards the end of 2025. An initial soft launch to Together For Cinema partners will be followed by a wider launch and greater interaction with the trade and a wider group of charities and good causes.
Database Development
Our donor and beneficiary base is ever growing and hence our outreach to the industry, and of course the potential continued difference that we’re able to make in our community.
Another Successful EI Live! Show…
Farnborough in September saw another successful EI Live! show and again we were very grateful to the organisers for giving Together For Cinema a complimentary stand space. This is hugely generous and really does help us increase awareness within the industry, as well as giving us a base to engage with interested parties, of which there are many!
…and More Recognition For Together For Cinema
A very special moment for me was receiving the Smart Building Awards Special Recognition Award for my work with Together For Cinema. An award that should go to all those in our industry that have played their part in ‘making it happen’. As someone once told me ‘every orchestra needs a conductor’, so I suppose, as the ‘conductor’, I get the recognition on behalf of our industry…, thank you.
This is our last report of 2024 and thanks to your support helping make an ever more secure platform to deliver positive change in our community, Together For Cinema is stronger than ever. This strong position sets us up for another productive and positive year in 2025, with more cinema room installations, more product donations to good causes and more positive difference being made by our industry. I look forward to telling you about this as it happens throughout the year.
Today all is well, but it is so important that it stays this way so please support in whatever way you can. Continue your support of Together For Cinema, encourage others to support and help make sure that this now recognised and established industry good cause maintains it’s position, and continues to make an important and positive difference in our community.
